20110611_DesignMuseum_wim crouwel a graphic odyssey

There is an exhibition called a graphic odyssey which shows graphic designer, Wim Crouwel's works such as posters, logos, photographs, books that he designed over 60 years in his whole life. He is Dutch graphic designer and typographer. I really like his typographical posters which based on grid system. Also there are original sketches, photographs which is really interesting.
Highly recommended exhibition!

johnny cupcakes!_in carnaby street

johnny cupcakes in carnaby street!

I saw 'johnny cupcakes' the shop selling T-shirts rather than real cupcakes as no one really expected. First time I saw this I felt like I'm hungry, wanted to have some cupcakes and I was really looking for the cupcakes but I couldn't! At that time I felt really bad because I couldn't get cupcakes but it was amazing! I totally hooked! Then I realized all T-shirts are on the cupcake plate which is really fun! And their T-shirts are so cute!

It was launched on 12th March 2011 by the way.

OffSight CSM Pop-Up Show _8-10 June 2011

OffSight CSM Pop-Up Show _8-10 June 2011_Exhibition

There was an Off Sight exhibition at Camp near Old street tube station which is by students from Central Saint Martins. There were a lot of great work such as print and bookbinding work. There was a sale as well.

OFF-SIGHT is an exhibition celebrating print and bookbinding work by BA(Hons) Graphic Design students from Central Saint Martins.

Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design is in the process of moving to a new, larger and collective site at Kings Cross. Recently a decision to move the BA Graphic Design print and bookbinding facilities off site to the Byam Shaw building in Archway has been made. Many feel that this would have a detrimental effect on the Graphic Design course, as the workshops are the pulsating source of the course. The Workshops are the space where students and staff exchange and share ideas, create and discuss.

The exhibition reflects the interdisciplinary nature of the course, combining digital and physical practices. We show screen prints, mono-prints, woodcuts, etching, bookbinding and work that has been created during the protest that has been going on since February.
The students hope to recreate the sense of community and creativity that is experienced in the workshops, that will soon disappear from site and sight. from sight and thought.

Alongside the exhibition will be a 3 day pop up shop run by BA Graphic Design second year students, From 8-10 June. The shop will sell a variety of bespoke and handmade products and all funds will go towards the degree show next year.

@Hogan Lovells

We met our Mentor, Errol Donald(Design Manager of Hogan Lovells International). It was really great time!

He was fantastic!!! and he gave us great advice and he talked about himself, his experience what he learnt from design, client and life, what he think about design process, etc.. a lot of helpful advices.

To summarize what he said, as I remember

-be confident, truly believe myself,

-make it clear with client(agreement, ask them!),

-clear about what I purpose to them,

-summarize what we've done so far.
